I'm so grateful to find this facility offered by Google. I've been teaching myself HTML language and JavaScript from library books so that I'd have a draft webpage to play with. I couldn't afford to upload what I've been practising with, so this is a great boon for me! Thank you, Google!

I suppose that my main item at this stage is my planned charity walk of some 4,000 kms around Britain. I had hoped to be in the London Marathon on 22 April 2007, and then walk from London north-east and north to begin with, passing through Ipswich and King's Lynn on my way north to Edinburgh and then on to John O'Groats and down to Land's End and back over to London. See maps on later pages. Unfortunately, lack of the necessary funds has meant a postponement to, hopefully, May 2008. I cannot get entry into London Marathon in 2008, so I aim to walk in Rotorua Marathon on 3 May, my 67th birthday, and then fly out of Auckland on 9 May approx. to London. Start walk around Britain in mid-May 2008. I've had a telephone call for an interview from "The Scotsman" newspaper, Edinburgh, today 11 January 2008, and apparently an article about my plans to walk will be in their issue on Tuesday, 15 January 2008. AND - they will try to help me raise the additional funds I need to get to London and maintain myself and support vehicle etc for 5 months approx.

If you want to know more about this adventure, send me an email to davidpaterson.paterson@gmail.com and ask for a PDF copy of my draft book on the Walk. You can then open and read that draft, using Acrobat Reader.
